I'm still here

Hello there friends and family!
I do apologize for not updating the blog in a month now-especially since its summer! I have no excuses. I have taken quite a few pictures though. I am behind on getting those onto flickr too.

In the meantime, I have become an uncle! My sister gave birth to Brodie Nicholas on July 18th. He's a cute little thing. It's amazing to me how much time has passed since Lily Anna was that small! I have also been added to the staff at Briarwood this summer on a permanent basis as part -time worship leader. I have been excited about God confirming the way in which I have felt Him leading. It's so exciting!

This week, I begin Whitfield County's teacher induction. It is exciting, but of course, I don't feel ready for all of this to get started. Next week begins preplanning, but the first day of schoool is on Friday-so ready or not, the kids are coming! In addition next week, I have to go to Atlanta to perform a song that I wrote for the Georgia School Board of Education. Its actually two songs. One song is deals with Social Studies and the other is about reading. Sounds pretty boring, huh? Well, boredom was my inspiration actually. In my coursework, we had to be trained on Georgia Performance Standards, which mandate what teachers teach in each grade level and content area. In this training, we students had to do presentations of them that, I'm sorry to say, did not leave me excited about teaching or anything else for that matter. So, I turned mine into songs. To make a long story short, word got out about my songs and now a colleague of mine and I are performing them.

Well, that's all that's new with us for now. I'm sorry this is really a boring post. I am not at a computer where I have my new pictures, so you're stuck with words. So, Gran, I'll put new pictures up soon. Hopefully, this week!

Later y'all!

God is good all the time - and - all the time, God is good. Leading a congregation into the presence of the Lord is an awesome responsibility. I'm sure you will be a blessing.

So, just waiting on pictures of the little ones playing bumper cars in their jeeps ;)
